To start off, my name is Dominique Pearson I play basketball at Converse University. I am from Sumter, South Carolina but I've also lived in Florida for five years. I like to take photos of different places I have traveled. The places I have been are California, New York, Jamaica, etc. My favorite color is blue because of the bright tone it has. My favorite foods are pasta and breakfast foods.

My current go-to song is J. Cole's "No Role Modelz" from his project "2014 FOREST HILLS DRIVE". The reason this is my go-to school is the beat and rhythm. The beat has a horn in the background that blends well with the tone of his voice. Secondly, the reason the song is to go to is the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" references he makes throughout the song. This together brings back happy memories and this song is nostalgic for me.

A song I find especially meaningful is Drake's "Do Not Disturb". This was one of many songs that got me through my first breakup in 9th grade. I remember the girl name was Roselyn. This song explains the reasons why he shouldn't be in love with his ex-girlfriend anymore, but instead find peace in being successful. I relate to this song in many different aspects. For example, Drake is older than me so he explains his love life towards the end of 2018 saying "I'll be back in 2018 to give you this summary". He makes references to the love he has for his grandma which I appreciate because I love my grandmother.

Country music has never been in my collection of music. The reason I dislike country music is the vocals. I do not relate to the lyrics saying something about patriotism. It just feels like the same story is being told of falling in love in s small rural town or vice versa. In country, the only voice I hear is a Southern accent. There is no uniqueness when it comes to the voice. I'll have friends say the biggest reason why they do not like country music is because of the lifestyle it portrays. They say they can't relate to a "cowboy" type of lifestyle.

This song is one I particularly love is J. Cole "Once and Addict (Interlude)" from his project "KOD" which has three meanings: "Kill our demons, Kids on Drugs, and King Overdosed". He sets the tone of the song by conveying that his mother is on drugs while he is in high school. He believes that his problems will go away once he goes to college. he soon finds out his mother is strong enough to quit on her own and realizes he is neglecting his family by ignoring his problems. He then goes on to explain how his love wasn't enough for his mom to change. He tells the story of how he matures throughout the song. He says "Looking back, I wish I woulda done more Instead of running." This makes the piece special to me in a sense.
